Accessibility statement – MOOVME App
As Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund GmbH, we are constantly committed to making the MOOVME app accessible.
The following declaration on digital accessibility applies to both the Android and iOS versions of the app. It should be noted that both app versions are largely barrier-free, but that some areas and offers cannot be used fully barrier-free.
The system settings of the respective end devices should also be taken into account. Operating aids are offered there that can be used to make the apps more accessible.
Accessibility status
The application for Android and iOS smartphones is only partially accessible. The requirements of WCAG 2.2 Level AA are only partially fulfilled.
Non-accessible content
The following services are not accessible for the reasons mentioned:
- The MOOVME app cannot be used in landscape mode on iOS smartphones.
- It is not possible to adjust text spacing on Android and iOS.
- Some areas of the app are not clearly labelled. For example, the user is in the ‘My tickets’ area when purchasing tickets. The names therefore only serve as a rough guide.
- MOOVME only offers support in the areas ‘Help Chatbot’ and “More” > ‘Feedback’. No specific help is available in other areas.
- If an entry is incorrect or an action cannot be carried out, the user is sometimes not offered any suggestions for improvement.
Trip Planner
- The functions ‘Current location’, ‘Swap start and destination’, ‘Options’ and My Adresses’ are not labelled, but can be used with a screen reader.
- The display of real-time data (delay in red and green font colour) is too low-contrast.
- Edges of text input fields (e.g. start and destination) or switch toggles (e.g. for activating/deactivating means of transport in the options) have too little contrast.
- The trip planner is only partially usable with an (external) keyboard. The start and destination fields can be accessed, but it is not possible to enter streets and stops using the keyboard.
Home
- The functions ‘Current location’, ‘Search’, own ‘My Adresses’ and filters for means of transport are not labelled, but can be used with a screen reader.
- In the home area, the start and destination cannot be entered using the keyboard. It is also not possible to switch to other areas via the tab bar. An alternative is to use the sidedrawer via the burger menu.
Departures
- The functions ‘Current location’, ‘Options’ and filters for means of transport are not labelled, but can be used with a screen reader.
- The departures area can be used for the most part with an (external) keyboard. The field for entering the stop/location can be focussed, but specific entries with the keyboard are not possible.
Settings
- Ticket settings/login: Alternatives to login such as using a password manager, CAPTCHA or answering alternative questions are not offered.
- Means of payment: When removing means of payment via the recycle bin button, the user is not asked to confirm the action again.
- XiXo billing: The order in which the screen reader records the bookings does not correspond to the reading order from left to right. The content of the screen reader output may therefore be confusing.
Tickets
- It is difficult to select the transport network, local validity and ticket category as well as the corresponding ticket using a keyboard, as the focus is not specifically displayed on the drop-down menus.
- When purchasing tickets, the screen reader does not highlight the mandatory fields in the ticket user details section. In addition, the screen reader indicates that, for example, the text for entering the first name is missing, although this has already been entered. This behaviour also occurs when entering the surname.
- Data already entered for the user is removed if the user goes back one step and selects another ticket. They are also not offered to the ticket user for selection.
More
- CheckIn: The user interface responds as far as possible to changes to the display size and/or font size in the smartphone’s system settings. However, this can lead to the visual shortening of texts, which can still be recognised by the screen reader.
- Chatbot: Adjustments to the display size and/or font size in the device’s system settings have no influence on the display in the MOOVME app, meaning that the content may not be (easily) legible.
- Sidedrawer: The MOOVME logo cannot be displayed by screen readers.
